Buenos Aires, Dec 18 (NA) — An old post from midfielder Fausto Vera has leaked. Vera has agreed to terms to become a new reinforcement for River Plate, and the post shows his fan support for Boca. According to the Argentine News Agency, it is a post on the social network X (formerly Twitter) from 2014, which reads, "How nice, Boca is playing today!" The central midfielder, who came up through the youth ranks of Argentinos Juniors, will undergo his medical examination this Friday, Dec. 19, and, if there are no issues, he will sign a one-year loan contract.

Marcelo Gallardo has his first reinforcement for 2026, a year in which he will have to change the face of his team and be optimistic about the Copa Sudamericana, and it is Fausto Vera, who would be a Boca fan. Emerging from the youth ranks of Argentinos Juniors and with extensive experience in youth national teams, having been captain of the U-23 team and part of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, held in 2021, an old post from the player has gone viral in recent hours, revealing his fanaticism for the "Blue and Gold."
"How nice, Boca is playing today!" a young Fausto Vera, only 14 years old and still playing in the "Bicho's" youth academy, wrote. In his early career, after his first-team debut in 2018, Vera quickly earned a spot in Argentinos Juniors' midfield, a team known for giving opportunities to players from its academy, until he left the club in 2022, moving to Corinthians of Brazil for seven million dollars for 70% of his pass. At "Timao," he played 96 matches over three years and was sold mid-way through the 2024 season after losing continuity in the domestic tournament to Atlético Mineiro, which bought him for five million dollars.
At Mineiro, Vera reunited with Gabriel Milito, the coach he had at Argentinos, and reached the final of the Copa Libertadores, starting in the series where they eliminated River 3-0 on aggregate, although they lost the final to Brazilian Botafogo 3-1. In the current season, with Jorge Sampaoli as coach, Vera was once again a runner-up internationally, this time in the Sudamericana, losing the final to Lanús, although he had much less participation in the starting lineup, starting from the beginning in 21 of the 32 matches he played, which is why "Galo" opted for his loan.
If he passes the medical, Vera will sign a one-year loan with River, with a fee of 500 thousand dollars and a purchase option for four million dollars.
